Kerry voted for the war before he voted against it. Kerry showed initiative by directly negotiating back in 1973 with the North Vietnamese murderous communists in Paris. He supported the Sandinista communists in their revolution in Nicaragua by traveling there and blowing their horn. He is a self-proclaimed war hero while giving himself a medal for a self-inflicted small wound while mishandling a machinegun. And now he is our new Secretary of State? How low can Obama go? Barack Obama has appointed the only U.S. Senator with his picture on the "Wall of Honor" at the Communist Party Museum in Saigon (now called Ho Chi Min City) to serve as our next Secretary of State.

The editorial staff of the Washington Post, surely meant well. They wanted readers to think that Sen. John Kerry’s vast experience in foreign policy over four decades equips him to serve as Secretary of State in the second Obama administration.

The editorial, titled “John Kerry: Well-suited to be Secretary of State,” gets that part right. The natty Mr. Kerry certainly looks the part of a globe-trotting senior U.S. diplomat.
