The only exception to that is Houston, Texas after hurricane Katrina. Which kind of reinforces the point, don't you think?

after a natural disaster, the rule of law is often "temporarily suspended"; IOW,there's little or no law enforcement. You're on your own. After a flood or hurricane, police (and fire) may not be able to GET to you,the phone lines may be down, cell towers inoperative, and you can't even reach 911.
Before Hurricane Charlie(2004),gov't officials warned that they WOULD NOT RESPOND to 911 calls during the storm, that they were not going to risk their people in the storm, that any response would have to WAIT until the storm was over. Roads may be blocked or washed out, power lines downed,no road open to get to you. many people don't realize this,or that police don't HAVE to come when called. Or they might be busy elsewhere.

And THAT'S another reason NOT to ban guns. In cases of natural (or otherwise) disasters, the cops can't and won't be there for you;whatever YOU have for self defense is ALL the help you'll have. You have to give yourself the best chance possible, and believe me-a hockey stick won't do the job.

Bob Costas, just a few days after giving a cultural soliloquy during a halftime break regarding the murder/suicide of Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, and the need to eradicate our society from guns, has managed to continue his elitist climb, claiming that the "audience" is to blame for the follow-up brouhaha about his comments.

Like a good elitist, Costas is blaming his audience.

On the Sunday broadcast between the Cowboys and the Eagles, while quoting and paraphrasing an anti-guns creed from sports writer and wannabe 2nd Amendment Bon Vivant Jason Whitlock, Costas stated (amongst other things):
