I disagree. You can substitute any word you like in your phrase: "There's nothing wrong with being an alcoholic. or There's nothing wrong with being a drug addict". Fact is, there is something wrong with those behaviors just as there is something wrong with 'choosing' the gay lifestyle. Yes, in my opinion, it is a choice, just like the other mentioned behaviors.

I disagree with you about any of those behaviors being a disease. By labeling them as such, it excuses the behavior and allows the owner to avoid responsibility. However, I do feel some of us have a more difficult time denying these vices than others.

That aside, regardless of where you and I feel of whether it's a choice or not, all the mentioned behaviors are destructive to oneself and society.
