It is true that this administration has misrepresented the stated goal of "transparency". But we now have much bigger problems to address than BHO's personal conduct -- it is too late to do anything about that. Instead, we have to hold what conservative lawmakers we do have in office accountable to our values and objectives. That will not be accomplished by typing in ALL CAPS on townhall.com. Besides holding the Republican House majority accountable, we need to figure out how to stop being parrots and re-engage in honest political discourse. We saw none of that from either side in this last election cycle.
And you are? Just because I don't yell, "YEAH, WHAT SHE SAID!!!" I'm not a conservative? Please, do some research... wikipedia is simply a starting point. One day you'll injure your knee with such reactions.
Can we please not resort to knee-jerk reactions? BHO is not the first president elect to take the oath in private and he probably won't be the last. Ronald Reagan took the oath for his second term in private on a Sunday also. We conservatives need to get our collective act together, and pouncing on every little detail doesn't do the trick. Neither does name-calling or fixating on talking points from Fox news. People on both sides of the political fence are behaving as parrots, repeating phrases they've been taught. A nation of parrots deserves just the mess we've got, so let's do something about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_office_of_the_President_of_the_United_States
The reactions here are pretty much over the top, and this is a conservative and definite non-fan of Obama saying so. Please read up on the history of the oath if you believe it to be a big deal. Here's a good place to start: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_office_of_the_President_of_the_United_States You will find that Ronald Reagan was one of four other past presidents who also took the oath in private and on a Sunday. If you still want to make a big stink about it, go ahead, but I think we have much bigger fish to fry. Personally, I would like to see Americans come together and figure out how the tradition of political discourse can be raised from the dead.
