You could do a lot better than Hawkins. Your sneering "Discussion is a good thing...." is laughable and frankly, shows YOUR ignorance. Hawkins is nothing more than a whiney, overgrown 12 year old -- sefish, self-righteous and ignorant. His views are undeveloped, lack nuance and show the world that he close-minded and unwilling to listen to anyone who disagrees with him. It's how a child thinks -- or someone who is fanatical that they stomp their little foot and makes a declarative statements and then refuses to listen to Mommy. Hawkins needs to grow some balls and act like a man -- smart people will dismiss him entirely.

You're splitting hairs, Amy -- you know what was implied. And that is the single redeeming feature in Hawkins list of how the world has 'done him wrong' -- he is saying what other Republicans won't admit and showing the 'true color' of the Republican/Conservative party.

I don't think that some blogger on TH is qualified to define what being a conservative means, and you shouldn't measure yourself against his description. And certainly it's ridiculous to think that a person who has been harmed by a certain pharmaceutical product who goes up against a huge company all lawyered up with millions of dollars should have to pay attorney fees if they lose. Hawkins list has a childish, self-centered, bordering on downright bratty overtone to it. It is a list of his personal grievances, and snotty, holier-than-thou assertions. I realize he's just another dull 'blogger' but a little thought in to how this sounded before he posted it might have saved him a little embarrassment. He looks like an ignorant fool.

Evading what? Some nitwit writes a column tantruming out of control and you're asking me if I voted for Obama in 2008? WTF does that have to do with my opinions on this poor dumb cluck?

When it comes down to it, the military is a job, you're employed in the military so the same rules apply to healthcare. Why is there an issue with abortion and the military? Whatever rules apply to a government employee with regard to abortion/pregnancy apply. If a woman is pregnant and is in a combat zone, or in a dangerous area, then she's re-deployed until she gives birth or goes out on leave. Same thing in the private sector -- if she's doing physically dangerous work while pregnant then she does other work in another capacity. there's no news here at all.

Now THAT's what being "free" means, right Joyc-ey. What are you anyway, Carrie's mother from the Stephen King novel?

And how do you tie that question in with this column?

There's no distinction in this snivel-fest of his between private and public handouts. He stated anyone who needs financial help should feel shame and their kids too. He's a twit alright, but his column is so "fist-in-hand" that it's difficult to think anyone really takes him seriously.

It's clear now, Hawk, that you are sadly, no more than an overgrown child -- your infantile "beliefs" are appropriate for a self-centered, self-righteous, "it's all about me" pre-pubescent boy, but they certainly are easily laughed at and dismissed by anyone with an adult point of view. You should feel embarrassment and shame at this Hissy Fit that passes as journalism or even writing. Making lists of your grievances don't pass muster as "beliefs" -- you're just having a dirty diaper meltdown and need a time out.
Guess what Skippy Benson? Romney DOES have great biz experience. See, Dems aren't scared shiitless to admit a positive characteristic of their opponents like Repubs. Romney has the business cred and the pol experience as gov to run for the office. So what? People also thought Palin with a half term as governor, mayor of a small town and some successful negotiation with energy companies made her qualified. Technically, they ARE qualified, but the candidate is more than the sum of his/her parts. Clinton is right -- Chances are Romney won't win, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have the proper experience.
I'm thinking the only one who cares about this at all are the Rightwingers. I've seen this Native American yammering on TH here for weeks in a desperate attempt to link this to the policies and character of Elizabeth Warren. There's a tipping point to these stories, when the so-called "truth teller," in these case the TH Bloggers turn into nothing but gossip-mongers -- the petty, useless people depicted in the media as bored housewives, old aunties, and spinsters. Now it's TH and other websites that look like angry, empty idiots, whining about a distant ancestry that has less than nothing to do with the current qualifications of the person. Give it up, TH bloggers -- you've lost.
