What does that mean? Bad puns don't really offer critical information.
I'm not trying to call anyone names or rub anyone the wrong way. I just want to express my viewpoint. I don't have a gut-check reaction against Pres. Obama; in fact, I think he's done a pretty good job considering the difficult position he is in. I'm not asking you to agree with me MandP, I just want to understand your point of view.
I guess then, help me get unstuck from stupid. Does it not seem as though there is an unreasonable hatred toward Obama from his opponents? In modern politics can you remember a time when a candidate was so roundly condemned by those who disagree with his policies?
In 2007, when I began writing my New York Times best-seller "Black Belt Patriotism," unemployment was less than 5 percent; the annual federal budget was about $2.9 trillion; the federal deficit was $161 billion; and the national debt was $9 trillion.
Today unemployment is stuck at 8.2 percent; the federal budget is $3.8 trillion; the national deficit is $1.3 trillion; and the national debt quickly is approaching a staggering $16 trillion.
And to add insult to injury, our vassalage to other countries deepens as they bankroll increasing amounts of U.S. debt, and more than 50 percent of our public debt is held by...

I'll never understand your blind faith in this guy anymore than I can fathom why a battered wife defends her husband.
When a relative nobody strolls into office and immediately starts writing out checks that we all pay for, to the tune of 5 TRILLION so far, that should be cause for alarm in anyone who understands economics. Funny how he aimed for the lowest common denominator in this country by building a campaign on one simple word: change. Sadly, the uneducated masses didn't get that the word "change"- by itself- is ambiguous.
He brought "change" as promised- for the worse. Why can't Obama voters just admit they got conned?
If anyone else performed as poorly on the job- or even made things worse as Obama has- they would be fired immediately. Yes, he made things worse. Unemployment, foreclosures and a stagnant economy are still here in full glory... the difference is, now we're 5 trillion further in the whole.
I bet there are tons of cults out there who'd love to get their hooks into you and your ilk.
And, I'm not trying to be fake polite, I really do want to keep this conversation civil. I enjoy trying to understand the viewpoint of others when I disagree, particularly on matters where both sides think their perspective is so obvious.
Look, it just seems as though there is an animosity for Obama among his opponents that is unrivaled in my memory. I do remember Bush being roundly condemned, but much for his policy choices and quotable moments (and boy did he provide fodder for the masses), but Obama is used as this symbol of everything Conservatives fear, and I don't really understand it.
I heard someone on Hannity the other day describing Obama while giving a speech, she talked about how his countenance darkened, and said she doesn't understand why everyone can't see that he is trying to destroy the America we know. That's the fear that I see in older, white Americans all over the place.
I know you are making a false effort at being polite. It does not work
