Mac, Let go of the Republican vs. Democrat rhetoric for five seconds and just recognize that I'm speaking in terms of practical consequences. I didn't say anyone was inherently "bad." I just spoke to the effect on the Mexican economy from promoting American business interests. Conservatives often try to paint all liberals as anti-business lunatics, as if we would have all of us living on a commune making hemp rope if it were possible. Many Democrats are pro-business and want to remove barriers to success for businesses. But those of us on the left want to do that on balance--ensuring that the workers have a credible voice at the bargaining table and are not simply rolled over.

On closer examination, it turns out that young voters, aged 18-29, overwhelmingly supported Romney. But only the white ones.

According to Pew Research, 54 percent of white voters under 30 voted for Romney and only 41 percent for Obama. That's the same percentage Reagan got from the entire white population in 1980. Even the Lena Dunham demographic -- white women under 30 -- slightly favored Romney.
