The Ryan Budget

"The Ryan approach at least has the possibility of making these cuts less painful by turning to market-based reforms". If, and only if, you live in right-wing fantasy land where profit based medical insurance somehow delivers more cost effective coverage than non-profit government regulated plans. Silly me, I must have overlooked TH rube ideology... that, and of course, the fact that I'm a "commie" to the unwashed masses that get their "news" from this churlish website. Say hello to another 4 years of the Obama presidency, nutters.

You ARE a rube numbnuts......show me one thing the government has been financially involved in that has NOT lost money for the taxpayers. Obamacare comes with a ptricetag of 2.6 trillion for a program no one wants or needs. AND it also blesses a 10% increase in premium costs EACH year.

Read the document before you speak..you are looking like a fool.

Time for you to grow up son.

"show me one thing the government has been financially involved in that has NOT lost money"

Explain it me BK Killer. You are under the illusion that the government is in business for profit?

This is the problem with nutters, like you - you lack the fundamental grasp of the purpose of government - to express the collective will of the governed to provide services on a scale that only a government can do. If it was making "profit" then that would be the definition of the thing you hate most; wealth redistribution.

"Obamacare [is] a program no one wants or needs." Don't tell the majority of Americans who support its provisions nor the 30 million who will now have coverage.

Sorry son but unlike you, I don't view the government as taking care of people from the cradle to grave. I don't believe that the government should be involved with private business......and don't use your stupid welfare clause because that is not what it means.

You entitlement freaks want handouts.....

More than 50% don't support this trash and if you knew what was in it, you wouldn't either. Tell that to the millions who are now going to be dropped by their doctors.

When government talks about revenue...they mean mine and your money. No wait, that's right..you didn't earn that. Somehow the government is respondible for you doing whatever. Guess what, we ARE the government and the quicker you clowns understand this the better this country will be.

BK, you are ideologically pure - and extremely ignorant.

You shouldn't call me son as I can tell from your body of posts that my children are older than you. They are also better educated than you are.

You have to buy into silly straw-man arguments about what the dreaded "left" believes, if you admitted reality it would destroy your right-wing fantasy about how government works.

What slave mentality is that?

More likely, you are a slave to your own ignorance and fear. Your juvenile comments expose you as uneducated and simple minded. And you are a true believer who is so ignorant and shallow that you are actually convinced that you're smart. Go back and read your own posts. You never answer questions nor post any fact based information. All you do is call others names and spout rhetorical talking points.

Left-wing fantasy land, anyone?

Private insurance, where a bureaucrat has to keep her customers happy, or lose them to someone better - _and_ keep costs in check, or lose her job when the company goes bankrupt.

Or government plans, where a bureaucrat doesn't give a damn about his "customers", since they're trapped anyway - _and_ needs to add more and more underlings, shuffling more and more paper, to keep and enhance his place in the Politburo.

Which one do you think will keep more people alive and healthy, for less money?
wsmith-84 Wrote: Aug 18, 2012 12:58 PM
Private insurance, where 20 cents on every dollar is skimmed off the top. If you think private insurance companies "keep customers happy or keep costs in check" you have never dealt with one nor have you paid for your coverage. If you had, you'd know the cost growth is twice the rate of the rest of the economy.

Medicare has 3% overhead and the most satisfied customers. Explain that.

Private insurers are exempt from anti-trust laws. Monopolies are hardly receptive to "free market forces". And health care is hardly like buying a new refrigerator. When you get cancer do you look for the cheapest doctor? No. No one puts a price on their life.

But I'm in a fantasy land?

Right, nutter.

Prove it? Never heard of "medical loss ratio"? Obviously not.

You hate Obamacare but actually have no idea what's in it.

You should try sites other than TH, you might actually learn something. Five minutes on 'teh google'. But I won't suspend respiration waiting for you to post a cogent thought. You lack the intellectual curiosity to learn anything that doesn't reinforce your preconceived ideas about how the world works.

"I do know that obamacare "permits" increases of up to 10% EACH year for insurance providers."

What's your point, you think was better when there was no limit and insurance companies increased rates at 15% or 20%.

Damn, you are stupid.

The political left is doing the St. Vitus dance over Paul Ryan's budget. This is the proposal Ryan put forth as Chairman of the House Republican Budget Committee to deal with the nation's fiscal crisis. Democrats are labeling it as "radical," and "extremist," especially Ryan's plans to reform Medicare.

The president has called the Ryan budget "social Darwinism." Democratic National Committee Chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, said it "would end Medicare as we know it." Not to be outdone, Republicans have launched some rhetorical hand grenades of their own. Mitt Romney told CBS News' Bob Schieffer that "there's only one president...
