What Do Mormons Think About Mitt Romney's Run for the Presidency

When reading scripture it is essential to put them in context. What audience was the Apostle speaking too. What question was being asked. Because an Apostle emphasis "faith" in my sermon does not mean that is the only principle of the gospel of Jesus Christ that is important. The same could be said about "works". Christ's Atonement overcame two deaths both came because of the Fall; Spiritual Death---separation from God and Physical Death---separation of the body from the spirit. Without Christ's suffering in Gethsemane and on the Cross neither of those deaths could have been overcome. No unclean thing can enter the presence of God. Christ paid for our sins. There would be no hope with out Christ. He made resurrection possible.

I type "my sermon" when I meant to type "one sermon". There is no way to correct that but to write it again here. I also could not finish my thought because I ran out of space.
To finish I would say that resurrection is the free gift that God give to all mankind. The gift of immortality of having our body and spirit reunited for eternity. The gift of eternal life is different than immortality. It comes though the atonement of Christ and our choice to repent as he call upon us to do and then to follow him...."Come follow me" and "And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? John 15:15" These are actionable activities. Without faith in Christ there is no way we are going to act on his commandments.

When Mitt Romney rules the world from the exact replica of the Oval Office hidden inside the Washington, D.C. Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the Tidal Basin will turn into a giant baptismal font and the cry will go out: We are all Mormons now!

I think I got your attention.

To be clear this is not what Mormons talk about; not at all. Some overzealous denigrators of the Mormon faith would have you believe that Romney’s intentions are nefarious and theologically gratuitous – the Oval Office replica joke above is an actual and laughable...
