It is noteworthy that Presidents Clinton and Bush 43 also made the errnoeous and delusional disconnection between overt acts of jihad and the mainstream Muslim doctrine that drives them, as codified in the Koran and the Hadithe. If you will take the time to read her interview with him, everything he said about the strategy as it relates to Afghanistan (including getting our troops out of there) is in that interview.

There is no way to tell when a seemingly "peaceful" Muslim will decide to answer the call to jihad and become a terrorist and visit random violence upon non-believers. It's impossible to predict. Ergo, I do not trust any Muslim, ever - not to keep an agreement (I'm familiar with Muhammad's Treaty of Hudaibiyya in 628 A.D., which set the groundwork for all Muslims to lawfully break their promises to Infidels), and not in any other matter.
