Anybody who supports inner city public schools is either a liberal or they hate kids. Not sure how, but we need to get the federal govt completely out of education and we need to reduce the unions influence. Parents and teachers in each school district should have almost total control over standards for education and discipline. Most parents and teachers care whether or not a kid is educated. Govt and union bureaucrats care about power, not kids..
