Jindal: “We Don’t Start Winning Majorities … by Insulting Our Voters.”

Civility in politics? Did you just arrive in the US? REpublicans do need to be careful of what they say and do, because the media will jump on any misstep. Democrats don't have that problem, the media will cover for them.

How is that media bias?

What they report on and from what angle is where the bias is most obvious. The news media is fairly good on facts, just they do not usually give all the facts.
The Bible does not say seven literal days. The sun was created on the 4th day, so how did God keep time?

If "reasoned logic" were used in the abortion debate, there wouldn't be an abortion debate. You claim some "right" to be able to destroy the life of another innocent human being (from the point of conception, it is provable that a fertilized egg is alive and human with its own unique DNA) as a demonstration of "freedom," even though it is a blatant violation of the right to life of the child you so carelessly conceived. Neither reasoning nor logic are on your side, how then shall we engage in debate with someone who does not rely on reason?

But you are forcing your religious views on everybody else. You demand that those who consider abortion to be murder or manslaughter to shut up and get over it, and democrats go so far to force those people to fund abortions. Then denigrate them if they complain and tell them to quit forcing their views on others.

ps, when I refer to the media, I'm talking 98% of the entertainment media, and 85% of the news media. I do not know of any unbiased media outlets.

"But look at the posts here."
Ever visit Huffington Post or any other political site? This site is mild in comparison to most. Civility in politics is extremely rare, but the media tries to convince us that only republicans are uncivil.

Abortion is one of the issues where republicans have to be extra careful. Children of rape are just as much precious gifts from God as any other baby. God did not intend for the woman to be raped in order to create the baby. Mourdock never intended to imply that, but he misspoke and the media beat him and the republican party with it.

"You insulted me."
If you found an insult in there, no wonder people must walk lightly around you.

Mourdock's statement was careless and stupid. His response was politically inept. It cost him the election and hurt the republican party across the country.
Republicans should not back down on their positions, but they must be careful how they present them. If Mourdock had just said, "all babies are gifts from God", 80% of the people would agree with him. The media would have clarified such a stupid statement made by a dem for him.

no the republicans need to confront the constant bias and bs spewed by the liberal media. republicans need to stop pandering and tip toeing the line with the liberal media. confront them head on call out their bias and bs. that is the only way to restore this country and put america back on track. we need to defeat the mainstream bias. do you think they give a damn about republicans? republicans have been being "careful" for 20 years now with the media and what has it gotten them?? time to fight back and quit being scared of what you stand for

On Fox News Sunday Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal once again distanced himself from Mitt Romney’s unfortunate and divisive post-election remarks, and upbraided two Republican Senate candidates for “saying stupid things” during the 2012 election cycle:

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal continued his critique of the Republican Party and its 2012 presidential contender Mitt Romney on Sunday as he argued for the GOP to become a larger tent party.

Romney drew a firestorm of backlash from fellow Republicans when he told donors on a conference call that President Barack Obama defeated him because of so-called “gifts” that he gave to...
