Bill Kristol: Tea Partiers Won't Mind More Taxes

Until the middle class is forced to pay their share to cover the out-of-control spending, they will not demand it. If we had taxation that treated all equally under the law and the tax revenues were sufficient to pay for our spending, the middle class would see their tax bill and freak. As long as congress hides the taxes and borrows to cover the deficit, the middle class will not demand spending cuts.

If we closed loopholes and got rid of exemptions (and cut spending) the middle class tax rates would be much lower overall. You're right though, these politicians are just shuffling the bills around. They offer tax cuts to get elected but someone else ends up paying anyway.

"If we closed loopholes..."

Just curious. Can you even identify two of these "loopholes" off the top of your head? Or are you just spouting liberal talking points that you would have to "research" to support?

I'll give two minutes to respond.

Bill Kristol just doesn't get the Tea Party and apparently, doesn't understand the Obama tax hike proposal on those making more than $250,000 per year. Last week, Kristol said "it wouldn't kill the country" if we raised taxes on millionaires and yesterday on Fox News Sunday, he said the Tea Party wouldn't mind a tax increase on millionaires, either.

Kristol: A lot of the Tea Party guys don’t care too much if a few millionaires pay couple percent more in taxes, honestly.
