The Minimum Wage Mirage

More about the point of raising people out of poverty. If the minimum wage goes up so does the cost of living. If the cost of living rises then so would the poverty level. So I would like the National whatever explain to me how people would rise above a poverty level that would eventually have to rise do to increased labor costs. Remember where are a lot of these jobs? Supermarkets. So all these nice folks that got their raise would now be spending more money on food, as would the rest of us who didn't get a raise, that seems like good economics to me.

Being from Mass let me give you a sense of what it's really like here. The legislature is comprised of 128 dems to 32 republican in the house and 36 to 4 in the senate. That is now and it really isn't all that different when Romney was Governor. If he didn't sign the bill they would have overridden it anyway. By the way I am as much against this as I was when he signed it but I also understand how this state works. If Romney didn't at least try to work with the legislature how much worse could this have been. Left to their own devices our legislature would rival California for creating all kinds of havoc. Romney is far from perfect, but he is who we have, and compared to Obama, well you should get the picture.
