When I was in high school in the early '60s, Florida required a statewide course, "Americanism vs. Communism." Seems the first part is no longer required...

We also were in the middle of the Cold War and had just been through the Cuban Missile Crisis. Americans were reminded daily of a common enemy and of a system that we did not want to become part of. Too bad the lame stream media does not still have the same values of pointing out how repressed the people of communism and socialism are. We need to get rid of political correctness and bring back the cold war after we defeat Obama in November.

Governor Mitt Romney's choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate is one of those decisions that seem obvious -- if not inevitable -- in retrospect, even though it was by no means obvious to most of us beforehand.
