Because coal sucks. Go smoke a cigarette.
Geez - such a darn shame y'all aint in office no more. Such... love.
Then there's this... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110623/ap_on_go_ot/us_census_white_minority tick tock tick tock tick tock... (That's the sound of your pending irrelevancy)
Ed - I can see you like to be quick on the trigger but you keep missing the target. (Thought that would sound familiar). Commercial stations are not interested in "good" programming. They are interested in lowest common denominator programming because they owe their paying sponsors the most ears and eyes. Whatever makes you think "cream rises to the top" in commercial programming? BTW, more people watched American Idol than any of George Bush's State of the Union addresses. I trust a man of your ilk isn't going to suggest that Simon Cowell is better than your boy -- or... was.... he?
Ed - try This American Life and Radio Lab. Publically funded shows you'll enjoy. Produced in part with your money to take you to hugely intersting places that have nothing to do with the LEFT you fear or the RIGHT yyou cherish. My money pays for our pleasures too. Open your mind a bit. The sytem delivers alot of quality -- and, uhh, seriously -- it AINT going to end soon and you'd be wrong to keep trying to end it rather than improve it.
And Sarah... when we "get rid of" everything that makes you uncomfortable what'll you have left but a fake vanilla world where you won't think and grow because you'll not need to move in the whiteout. You'll be like that old dog with the plump new bed by the fireplace. Zzzzzzzzzz -- then wait to get fed. Life's more - and it aint best when you try to tune it only to one frequency
"PBS and NPR are hard left propaganda outlets, that are funded by extorting the tax payers." Just not true. PBS and NPR provide huge amount of programming that broadens outlooks and takes America's media to places commercial endeavors rarely travel. I understand you don't agree with the politics but the entire universe of programming goes far beyond political content. You (we) have every right to be incensed over the Juan Williams transgression. Punish and correct the sinners -- not the system.
It shouldn't be attempted. NPR provides a HUGE amount of quality, informative, educational and intellectual programming. If you don't like the politics all the time that's fine. Ample other places to go. Do you really want ALL "media" to be American Idol, Country Music and Bill O'Reilly? Really?
"Millions upon millions of people listen to talk radio everyday and none that I am aware of have decided to go on a mindless killing spree." - except, uhh, one.
This guy's opinion is significant?

Aw, why waste my time.
