Money is very important, but what is forgot is that on the Conservative side all the money in the world couldn't overcome the corrupt and free 24/7 coverage by the liberal MSM. If you never hear about Bengazigate and the numberous lies, or the rejection of help; the 55 lobbyists in Obamas administration; the refusal to provide documents from Fast and Furious and the innocent dead; the nonquestioning of what 4 more years meant, and its implications; then all you want to know is "when does my entitlement check arrive"? The bottom line is that the corrupt and non democratic media allowed this to happen by not providing the public with any information. The USSR would be proud.

The Republican primaries also provided Obama and the left stream media with material to pound Romney with. Obama covered the airwaves will all kinds of negative ads. People voted for Obama because they believed that Romney was going to take their social security away, take their Medicare away, take away their access to their prescription medicine, take away their right to get an abortion (overturn Roe vs. Wade), block the supposed right of gay couples to marry, round up Hispanics and ship them back to Mexico, give all the tax breaks to the rich and increase taxes on the middle class, increase the national debt by reducing taxes on the rich (like Obama hasn’t added over a trillion dollars to the debt EACH YEAR he has been in office),...

Obama told them Romney would start more wars in the middle east including bombing Iran to keep them from getting nuclear weapons and even try to convert every American to Mormonism. They believed all these lies told by the Obama campaign and never questioned by the media. Of course it was all cr@p but truth doesn't matter as long as the negative message about your opponent is spread. Romney did not do enough to explain how Bain Capital worked and why its creation and operation was a good thing. He was too humble to spell out how generous he is with charity to dispell the rich robber baron tag.

The bottom line is, it is difficult to overcome a media that doesn't question lies of a Leftist and scrutinizes every work of a Republican/conservative, who helps cover-up scandals, corruption, bad policy, lies and misinformation.
Much digital ink and wind is being expended today on the interwebs and cable TV lamenting the ineffectiveness of outside spending from conservative-aligned groups in electing Republican candidates. Indeed, some of the largest groups spent incredible amounts of money to what looks to be little effect. Many Republican candidates who had large SuperPACs behind them lost, and in what looked to be winnable races. This wasn't just Mitt Romney - it was down the ballot with candidates like Josh Mandel, Scott Brown, Tommy Thompson and George Allen.

The Washington Post's headline is "Spending by independent groups had little...
