Is Christianity Homophobic?

I saw this headline: Westboro Baptist Church to picket funerals of those slain at the Boston Marathon and, of course. I thought of some of the Tonwhall social cons. The Westboro congregation is almost all about homosexuality in the US when they picket. This "permisiveness" troubles God. You guys here can join them with your "Marriage is between one man and one woman" signs and get media coverage for you views. Every time I hear or see the Westboro Baptist Church's name, I think of some of the nuttier social cons here.

I prefer the more freethinking congregations, they tend to be the most open to gay unions. These were the congregations (like the Quakers) who were against slavery, even near the beginning of the 1700s. I'm struck by how many American thinkers like Ben Franklin and Thomas Jefferson and Ralph Waldo Emerson believed in a God ("Providence") though not in the divinity of Christ. I suppose this is the doctrine of Deism which is against revealed religions (Moses, Jesus, Mohammed). Our country's beginning are rife with religious dissenters and splinter groups. The only thing they seemed to have in common is an anti-Catholism and anti-Papalism, which is a vestige of Martin Luther and the Reformation.

Really, Dread, do you always have to write like you're trailer trash and without an education? Can't you class it up ever? Who could dare take you out to a nice restaurant when you act like this?

There are plenty of churches that teach that homosexuality is not a sin. The Episcopal Church is an example. They ordained a gay bishop. They give their blessing to gay unions. In the 19th century divorce was the big issue. Was divorce really sinful? Jesus does say that any man who divorces and marries another is an adulterer. Ronald Reagan would be an adulterer according to Jesus' words. Most churches no longer preach that divorced persons in the congregation are adulterers. Homosexuals will become the new divorced people and churches will not focus on those scriptures. Just as we don't focus on the polygamy in the Bible.
I hope Pat Robertson doesn't say that God allowed this to happen because of society's acceptance of gay marriage

I am not convinced that a Creator God who supposedly created Man also created the sea cucumber and sea pig. And wasps. And potato bugs. Evolution seems much more plausible.

New Zealand has the final vote and will be legalizing gay marriage on Wednesday. Uruguay was last week. And Ireland is starting their process now. The times, they are a-changin'.

NOT see! You didn't see the "t" on the keyboard!
Gay thread troll Cambermeister doing his comedy act. Loser with apparently no life.
Question: Do Christians believe that Jews will ascend to Heaven and live with God for eternity? Are Jews sinful if they believe Jesus is a mortal man? Why were Christians so intent on converting Jews throughout the Middle Ages to the Enlightenment, then torturing some and killing some who refused to repent? Why did Christians in Papal States require Jews to live in ghettos until 1870 and wear special clothing indicating they were a Jew? Why where "godless Jews" made scapegoats by medieval Christians for the spread of the Black Plague? Why were Jews blamed for the death of Christian children -- blood libel -- with Jews routinely being murdered, usually by a Christian mob?
How do social cons expect states currently allowing gay marriage to disallow them? Is this a goal? What is your plasusible route to getting rid of gay marriages in the nine states? Is this only temporary? Do you guys still secretly harbor fantasies of Congress passing a Federal Constitutional Amendment banning gay marriage? Are the 54 Senators who support gay marriage going to vote for your Constitutional Amendment? I'm not sorry you're losing this battle. You can spend hours and hour posting little comments on a website, but life is still moving on without you. Good night.
