What most of these conversations never talk about is the fact that the 2nd Amendment was created so the people would have a way to take the government back by force of arms, not to protect their right to hunt or shoot a burgular. Those two things are important but not the reason to protect a right that no one will mention or talk about because it would be a very very hot button no one wants to touch. It would scare the hell out of everyone to talk about using guns to throw the Socialists out of our government who are the ones who have screwed the country up.

I think that was a major consideration in the minds of men like George Mason, James Madison, and Thomas Jefferson, even if the latter wasn't involved in the drafting of the US Constitution.

Let's see, where was that... Etowah, TN? In the 1940s, a bunch of returned vets and friends and neighbors pretty much did exactly that - staged a small-scale armed rebellion against a corrupt, crony-filled county administration, removed said corrupt politicians, staged a new election, then once the ballots were counted, hung up their guns and went back about their daily business. A right proper group of Twentieth Century minutemen they were.

Yes quite strange isn't it.
Of course anyone saying anything about that publicly like on propaganda peirs would have twisty lips foreigner spewing vomit.

Milwaukee Country Sheriff David A. Clarke Jr. and Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett joined Piers Morgan on his show to discuss the sheriff’s radio ad, which urges citizens to consider taking a firearms safety course because “simply calling 911 and waiting is no longer your best option.” Clarke’s point was that with officers laid off and furloughed, police might not be able to respond as quickly as needed. Thus, citizens may want to consider giving themselves another option: learn how to responsibly use a firearm for self-defense. This, of course, doesn’t fly with Morgan, a staunch gun-control advocate, or Mayor...
