Such a sad state of affairs. If only the media published the truth, with no right or left agenda, they could actuall be responsible for straightening out this country. People would find out that almost all politicians from the Pres on down are only, in it for their own benefit. Would not a polygraph test on all of congress be an interesting thing to see? I think we need to seriously think about electing people who are not lawyers, but normal everyday people who understand we have a whloe country to save, not to exploit for their own greedy benefit.

That was part of Plato's Republic. People would serve the country for a couple of years and then go home and another would take their place. Our Congress is a classic example of absolute power corrupting absolutely. This train is so far down the track that it is past the point of no return. We the people have failed in our duty to see that our constitutional republic was "kept". Shame on us!

What a difference a few month makes.

Last month we were told by a fawning news media how great things were. The economy was a little engine that could.  And the declining unemployment rate was touted in headlines as significant progress toward economic recovery.

Unemployment rate falls to 7.8% in September, reported the Washington Post- a four-year low...”nearly”… whatever “nearly” means.

“The nation’s jobless rate dropped to its lowest point in nearly four years in September. And unlike some recent declines, this one happened for the right reason: not because people gave up looking for a job, but...
