Clinton wouldn't have had two terms and the first Dem president since 1980 would have been Obama. Let's hope the Republicans, when they get back in don't fall back into old habits of "comprimising" with the lefties and spending us into oblivion. People need to get involved with the GOP and ensure from the ground up they are conservative so that they don't get booted again anytime soon.

Great nations do not take perfectly good machinery and scrap it. Nothing good comes from an artificial stimulus which canablalizes future sales, scraps parts and used cars making them more expensive, and worst of all, the govt setting a poor precedent with money they don't have to begin with.

He meant "Republic". America is committed to a REPUBLIC -- THEREBY circumscribing democracy's scope in order to minimize the damage it can do by improvident responsiveness to untempered gusts of public passion.

And George is wrong in his assumption that "independence" is mutually exclusive with "Audit"---unless of course it is also mututally excusive to being "Accountable".
