The Democrats know that the neocons are dedicated to raising taxes by a third, preserving military spending, and cutting spending last. They know that neocons instruct the Republicans in what to do. They know that neocons will instruct the Republicans to cave on raising taxes again in exchange for restoring military spending. And that Republicans won't even get around to demanding spending cuts when all is said and done. And that they won't even have to remove the stick that is the Chuck Hagel nomination to get what they want.
