But the Republicans choose to ignore this, aiming instead to dismantle the social compact and to turn America into a third-world banana republic where a small cadre of privileged elites will rule over a mass of impoverished citizens reduced to servitude, fighting for themselves in a dystopic "wild west" without any hopes of ever improving their condition. For these reasons, despite my position on abortion I am a proud progressive liberal and I could never, ever vote for the Republican party.

A southern Republican says, "President Obama channeled Elvis Presley to protect his “Little Sister” Susan Rice. The Daily Caller nailed it when they stated Obama set women’s rights back one hundred years by telling the press that the Republicans should come after him and leave her alone." This same southern Republican gentleman also believes that the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments set the Black man back 100 years.
The Tea Party is actually just another (new) name for the old evangelical "Moral Majority" created by the likes of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Jesse Helms and Ralph Reed. The Moral Majority/Tea Party has surely been co-opted, since it's inception, by far-right economic conservatives like the Koch brothers, but those fat-cat conservatives were never actually the Moral Majority or the Tea Party's initial "roots".
