I can understand the frustration these workers have with the company. They have a huge star-studded stockholder meeting costing millions of dollars and pay millions of dollars in bribes in Mexico but only pay the workers minimum wage? You cannot support a family on minimum wage. Most of the jobs in this country now are minimum wage. When 70% of economy depends on consumer spending and consumers can barely pay rent, hospitalization, food and gas, there is nothing left.

Then start your own company, treat employees the way you think they should be treated, and see how successful you can be.

In fact, you could make Hostess an offer, give the union everything they want, and be the proud owner of an established brand with an established market and a trained workforce -- best possible entry conditions.

Not wanting to do the job that is available doesn't grant a right to do no job at all and be supported on the backs of those who do the jobs you think beneath you.

Hostess employees insisted on continuing a strike, even as management noted that the company couldn't survive a prolonged union action. Now the employees won't have jobs at all, as their action has forced the company to liquidate.

On Black Friday, some Wal-Mart employees are planning on staging a walkout to protest alleged retaliation for employees who criticize the company. (Not surprisingly, union organizers -- angry that Wal-Mart isn't unionized -- are behind a lot of the controversy.)

Perhaps what all these petulant employees don't realize is that companies are in business to earn a profit.  If they can't, there...
