Heavier cars generally get lower gas mileage than lighter cars. Heavier cars generally do more wear and tear to the roads than lighter cars. The more miles you drive the more wear and tear you do to the roads. The gas tax for the purpose of maintaining roads is about as perfect as a tax can be. Toll roads are ridiculous. I could maybe make an argument that tolls for bridges are ridiculous as well. Thanks for the article!
Add City Councilman Zach Reid in Cleveland who recently was arrested for his third DWI. All three since becoming a member of the City Council 14 years ago. He will without doubt be reelected again.
I have no problem with the concept of the minimum wage. I have a big problem with a federal minimum wage. This should not be a national policy. It belongs with states and municipalities to compete. That gives the best economic results for everyone. The federal government should not even broach this topic, much less enact such a policy.
Being a Republican is not in and of itself a qualification for this cabinet post. I am sure that if a qualified Republican were nominated he would fly right through. But it is President Obama's intention to make the Republican's look like they are obstructing a grand bi-partisan effort by nominating Hagel for a post he is flatly unqualified for.
Nothing President Obama does make him look bad in the eyes of his supporters. Nominating an imbecile like Hagel is a purely political move. He makes the Republicans look like obstructionists for blocking the nomination of "one of their own" and the President will not let the public forget how he reached across the aisle and was rebuffed. Hagel, being the idiot that he is, played right into it.

The federal government's involvement should not extend beyond interstate commerce involving guns. Laws regulating the lawful ownership of guns, ammunition, and paraphernalia should be left to the states. It really is that simple.
And with essentially no spending cuts at all it makes this whole thing a political exercise by the Democrats to demonize the "rich" and the Republicans to further their political position at the expense of every American. Bravo you short sighted fools.
The question for House Republicans is now simple. What is worse, the cliff of the deal? At least the cliff has spending cuts. The deal will probably pass. But we need to HAMMER spending. HAMMER AND HAMMER AND HAMMER!!!! Spending is the problem. We cannot collect enough taxes to pay for the spending. We must own the spending argument. The other thing we must do is pull this into perspective. The deficit is over a trillion per year. The revenue is shown as 600 billion, but that is over 10 years. So this deal even at its best only raises enough revenue to cover about 5% of the deficit.
