The only way to prevent abuse of power is to deny power to be abused. That is why the constitution limits the power of government, to protect the people from the government. We cannot preserve our Freedom by giving it away. I would rather be free with the risks of freedom than a safe slave to a "benevolent" master.

The Obama Administration will not go after anyone for anything within their own. It is their play to never admit to mistakes no matter how grievous they are. In fact they double up and claim that mistakes are just people trying to do the right thing. It is idiocy and incompetence in charge with a strategy of no repercussions through constantly pleading ignorance and good intentions and pointing to the bureaucracy as the silver bullet that is taking care of all the loose ends.

E.W. Jackson and the Republican Party

The secret of Ronald Reagan in the general elections was the demographic known as the "Reagan Democrat". This creation allowed Democrats fed up with the Democratic Party to keep the Democrat moniker they exalt, while voting for the Republican candidate for President. That was President Reagan's inclusiveness. It was "come join me" not "let me come join you". Star is right on the money that we need to stand with our principles. But at the same time we need winning political strategies that are in alignment with those principles. Adopting strategies in conflict with our principles is what defines the Democrats.
I disagree. Our potential for intelligence is inherent. What we do with that potential is what matters. Technology can be used as a crutch or as a ladder to let us reach higher. It is technology that has allowed the collective scientific discovery to advance so rapidly while the claim is being made that we are becoming less intelligent. It is with our minds as it is with our bodies. When there were no escalaters and doors were not on electronic sensors to automatically open we had to climb more stairs and push more doors and we were in better shape just from doing things in public. But as these conveniences have emerged taking away the inherent excercise of daily life, we have created the gym and the daily workout done by millions, not just athletes anymore. Likewise we don't need to exercise our minds like we used to. We don't need to take a list to the store (preparation skills) because we can just phone someone and ask what is in the fridge. As our minds are relieved of daily work we need to replace it to keep ourselves sharp, similar to how gyms have become popular.
Nature vs Nurture. What is the cause of any particular trait in a person? The answer is of course always both. It is the balance of cause that always needs to be debated. The study of IQ appears to be flawed and with that fact all the conclusions fall like a house of cards. We are evolving a dependence on technology. People don't need to plan or take precautions like they used to. All the knowledge of the world is at our fingertips with smart phones and search engines. That doesn't make us less intelligent; it changes how we operate. What used to be a skill we needed becomes a service provided to us. The question is this... when the magic gets turned off what happens to those who relied upon it?
Was there this level of zeal during the Wiki-Leaks investigations?

The discrediting must be so complete that the impeachment is a bi-partisan effort with Democratic leadership on board. A partisan impeachment, no matter how justified, is a political mistake on a man who cannot become President again.

Only the Republican establishment could possibly screw up this impending political opportunity.
