What Happened to Our Country?

In Canada, we have more of everything that people here describe as being the cause of the decay in America and yet we are doing far better. Perhaps you need to have a look at your reasons again? Or perhaps it may not be as bad as you think it is (or how bad you are told it is).

Now that America is over, I'm going to enjoy seeing what happens to Canada without the US to provide protection.

Holland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, etc.
All are way more secular and liberal than America...and aren't seeing nearly as many problems as America. They have nowhere near the crime, their economies are doing MUCH better, and their quality of life far surpasses that of America...

But the people we're talking to here couldn't even find any of those countries on a map, so we're wasting our breath. They will continue to look to the heavens for some mythical being to come down and save them.

The nations of the West are materially richer than ever before but spiritually poorer than at any time in their history.

We kind of debunked this argument. Canada and the European countries are far more secular and also richer. So they are "spiritually poorer" and materially richer.
These countries do not have the same problems to the same extent as described in the article.

Therefore it is something else. It is not the lack of God. It is not the Liberals wanting equality for all. I don't pretend to have the answers. I have some ideas but I really don't know.

This is why I made the statement "Perhaps you need to have a look at your reasons again? Or perhaps it may not be as bad as you think it is (or how bad you are told it is)."

When people reminisce about what America used to be like, some act scornfully toward us. They say living in a Donna Reed world was great for a few, but that there were many suffering souls. The way our country is today makes some of us long for those days which seemed so innocent compared to the harsh, cruel, coarse, and sometimes murderous days we exist in today.

Yet most would argue that there were still injustices when we were growing up fifty years ago. Black people who had been freed a century before were still not treated equally in most parts...
