Just to let you know, about 3 or 4 years ago, a new etiquette was passed concerning the civilian clothes of active & retired service members which allows us (including myself EMC USN Ret - 20 years) to salute out of uniform if the situation would warrant a salute. If I may, while I genuinely appreciate a good barb directed towards O, and see a few posts here already concerning him, this article is not overtly political, nor did it discuss him. It is a reminder of those who cared enough, loved enough and sacrificed everything possible to HONOR what this country stands for. I purposely write this present tense because there are enough who still LOVE the ideals WE were founded upon.
