Consider the situation that our neighbors just south of the border face daily. For the most part only the police, the military and the bad guys are armed. These three are armed with automatic--not semi-automatic weapons. Average Mexicans can own guns, but the requirements, caliber, licensing and expense make it extremely difficult. No doubt many law abiding Mexicans own guns, however, the vast majority do not. Consequently, it is commonplace, particularly in rural areas, to have your home entered at night by the bad guys as you lie in bed and listen to them rifle through your posessions. Our neighbors to the north are not much better off when it comes to protecting the sanctity of their home or their person.

That being the case, I have to ask of Mr. Ransom and others here, what controls, if any, do you favor over the purchase and use of weapons, including semi-automatic weapons such as the one used by the killer in Aurora? Or do you think we have too much gun control with the laws we have now? - The American Solution: Reach for the Guns
