The High Cost of Liberalism: Part II

Wally123 Wrote: 7 hours ago (10:10 AM)
Detroit is an example of "The High Cost of Liberalism". Here is some history: Liberal policies have caused horrific damage to Detroit starting back about 50 years ago. In the early 1920s and on into the 1950s Detroit was the wealthiest city in the world on a per capita basis. It had the highest per capita income, the highest percentage of home ownership, the highest per capita value of real estate, fabulous parks, museums, wonderful schools, fine public buildings and homes, a great theater district, low crime and more. By the mid 1950s its population had grown to 1.87 million and it had the largest department store in the world (Hudsons) which employed 12,000 people. In the 1950s Detroit’s schools were the finest in the country. For the first half of the century the city was run by Republicans, almost all the mayors were Republicans over these years and the city boomed. Then in the late ‘50s more liberal council members and administrators came into power. The decline started and people started to move out to the suburbs. Then in 1961 a Democratic mayor was elected and the administration became Democratic by a vast majority and started instituting left wing liberal policies combined with corruption. The decline continued and people moved out in increasing numbers continuing until today and now it is below 700,000 and is bankrupt. The people who left were those who were financially able to do so with the result that although Detroit lost more than half its population it lost 85% of its wealth. The once best in the country school system is now the worst in the country, crime is among the worst and much of the city looks like a bombed out war zone. All due to Democrats and their liberal left wing policies. For this entire time from 1961 until today the city was controlled by Democrats.
Congratulations Mike. My only objection to the results is that you were only awarded $50,000. There should have been severe punitive damages. Around $1,000,000. would have been about right. Also, I hope you have Tenure. I love your intelligent articles and logic. Keep them coming

Hey Jim134, your list is way to short. You could easily add 100 or more.

Are We Sick of Him Yet?

Wally123 Wrote: Dec 06, 2013 1:26 PM
I have been sick of him since the day he decided to run for president and I have been getting sicker of him with each passing day. Also, the entire disaster of his presidency has convinced me that the half of the population that is below the median IQ and voted for him are far dumber than I ever imagined. It has also convinced me to not only believe the main stream media but to not even watch it. I will only watch FOX News.

Is the President Dishonest Or Ignorant?

The heading to this story asked: "Is the President Dishonest Or Ignorant?" The answer is obvious. He is both Dishonest and Ignorant in the extreme.
The only thing I don't understand is why Obama's poll numbers are as high as they are for all polls. His ratings should be near 0. But two things probably make the poll results so much higher than they should be. 1. Most polls are run by the biased left wing media so they can tailor them by the way they ask the questions and the make up of the groups they poll; and 2. Half the population is below the median IQ and this dumb half are Obama's and the Democrat's base and responsible for Obama being elected and re-elected.

It's Time for Partial Obamacare Repeal

Wally123 Wrote: Nov 13, 2013 12:48 PM
No, not partial repeal. The entire monstrosity needs to be repealed and start over. And right after repeal fire the 15,000 extra IRS agents that were hired to harass us and all the other additional people hired as a result of Obamacare that will make life miserable for us.
And we are going to continue to hear the word "Misspoke" from the MSM every time Obama flat out lies which will be every day/
Actually, Iraq did have WMD. They were sent to Syria so Bush did not lie
