The FBI investigation into what caused the financial collapse estimated that just 18% was due to people that borrowed more than they could actually pay back. The rest was attributed to the pealing back of Glass-Steagall and our financial institutions bundling together crap mortgage backed securities, giving them AAA ratings, peddling that garbage to investors then betting on it to fail because they engineered it to fail. I agree with everything that you said but I don't think your good ideas are solutions to the problem. They're just small pieces to the puzzle. Medical suppliers overcharging hospitals and doctors increase what we pay in premiums. Coverage has nothing to do with that. Also, whether you like it or not under our current health care system you and I are paying for every uninsured person in this country right now. There are two undisputed reasons health care costs are high in this country.

One: Un/under insured people. Our emergency rooms are over-run every day because of non-emergency related things. When you’re left with one option because you have no insurance and the only place you can go to get treated for colds is the emergency room you go there. They have to treat you. We pay for those treatments.

Two: Healthcare suppliers over-charge. It's the old 90 dollars for a hammer song and dance. You can’t post 300 percent plus profits and tell me you didn't over-charge. They sell prescriptions for 190 dollars a bottle and then generics start coming out and the price drops to 50 dollars a bottle. Even at 50 they still...
