Poll: Majority Says Federal Government Shouldn't Be Responsible for Healthcare

I personally voted 4 times! Obama! Obama! Obama! Town Hall should be SO PROUD - it's been successful at propagandizing Americans into a cognitive dissonance between the WILDLY popular provisions of the PPACA and the churlish talking points like "GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER" and "TAXPAYER FUNDED ABORTIONS", and... OBAMACARE is LAW and there's NOTHING nutters can do to change that. And the more time that passes, the more Americans will come to understand that the "right" is nothing but a paid propaganda machine and the PPACA is a good law that will benefit them. ~Cheers

"So just keep "thinking" you're not a joke and I'm sure at least one or two of you fellow nutters will come to your defense."

Being called "a joke" by a lying idiot like you Winston is no insult.

And the joke is going to be on you and the rest of the fools who voted for Obama when it all come crashing down. Or are you going to go on pretending that socialism is a greatr success when history says otherwise.

1) you C O M P A R E D the PPACA to S L A V E R Y (is that slow enough chump?).

No, I called attention to your pretense that ObamaCare is inviolate because it's current law. In other words: It can be changed. So no, obviously NOT SLOW enough.

2) replying to a comment is not debating

And neither is lying and making up straw man arguements debate. but you and your ilk do it all the time.

3) Thirty million new insured is a talking point?

Citation? Or just another guess?

4) try reading the federal registry. OK, nutter, cite the exemption in the law. (hint: Section 1312).

CIte where Congress is REQUIRED to participate. Hint: They STILL have their own healthcare plan.

"So, itsallaboutyou, HOW DOES the PPACA "intrude" on your life?"

You mean it REQUIRES a citizen, by law, to purchase insurance that they may not want or need, or pay a fine?

Uh, they didn't. If you'd try reading something other than IDIOTIC right-wing propaganda then you'd know that. But that's a bridge too far for the ol' simpleton, Mudbrain!

Try reading the Federal Registry sometime, instead an opinion in a magazine, chump.

"You're a CLOWN!"

Coming from a lying coward like you, that isn't saying much.

"Mudbrain, you're comparing the greatest expansion in access to health care in 50 years to slavery?"

Read it S L O W L Y skippy. I'm saying that your pretense that it's law at this time doesn't make it inviolate. And your claim that it's "the greatest expansion in access to health care in 50 years" is nothing but a talking point. What it really isa a HUGE expanse of Government.

" It's not worth my time to "debate" you as you're just a run-of-the-mill ideologue operating on a single-minded objective of defending Republicans and trashing Democrats regardless of facts and truth."

Yet here you are.

You're not a serious person, Mudbrain.

It's not worth my time to "debate" you as you're just a run-of-the-mill ideologue operating on a single-minded objective of defending Republicans and trashing Democrats regardless of facts and truth.

"If it's such a good law, then why did Congress exempt themselves (sic)?"

Uh, they didn't. If you'd try reading something other than IDIOTIC right-wing propaganda then you'd know that. But that's a bridge too far for the ol' simpleton, Mudbrain!

"government intrusion"

This is one reason I like Town Hall - I get to read things people write that are completely vacuous yet said with conviction.

So, itsallaboutyou, HOW DOES the PPACA "intrude" on your life?

Take as much time as you need, I'm looking forward to reading your thoughtful reply.

Slavery used to be law too. So don't be too sure about your silly assertion Winnie.

"and the PPACA is a good law that will benefit them."

If it's such a good law, then why did Congress exempt themselves? And why is your messiah givng out waivers to his stooges?

w-smith: One person=One vote. Cheater! More government intrusion into the lives of the people is NOT a good thing!

Since most of the data in post-election polling has offered little beyond a parade of ugly news, here's a glimmer of hope from Gallup:

For the first time in Gallup trends since 2000, a majority of Americans say it is not the federal government's responsibility to make sure all Americans have healthcare coverage. Prior to 2009, a majority always felt the government should ensure healthcare coverage for all, though Americans' views have become more divided in recent years...Republicans, including Republican-leaning independents, are mostly responsible for the drop since 2007 in Americans' support for government...
