Your comments make me think of the person who said "You can't change Washington from the inside." (Obama 9/20/2012). He's set the tone by blaming Bush for everything he couldn't do, actually did the things he said he wouldn't do, and tries to say what he wants to do will be even better for the country. But remember you can't change Washington from the inside. He just wants four more years to distribute our money to his friends. Then there's Fast and Furious. Libya. Egypt. Obamacare. DOMA. Solyndra. Who's the idiot again?
What a vulgar comparison. This post has so many wires crossed, it's hard to know where to begin with it. Though it sounds like you're aware that the Nazis are a Socialist party, are you aware that today's liberal Democrats are far closer to Nazism than conservatives? Just look at how this administration treats our Constitution. In fact, there are many avowed Socialists and Marxists in Congress today. They are all Dems. If you like that system of government, go to a country where they already have it and stop trying to change this one. You have bought into a lie, or maybe several. And stop throwing that vile word around.

Fair enough. It sounds like you've made up your mind, and your logic is sound. But did your studies include that God's thinking is not our thinking? Consider this: the Bible says that our spiritual eyes are closed until we come to know Him through Jesus Christ. Only then will our eyes and our understanding be opened. In other words- after a small step of faith, God will reveal all the evidence you need. Don't believe me? Study the life of Paul the Apostle and read in his own words what happened to him.

God has promised that anyone who will put aside his/her own biases, with an honest and open heart, can come to Him for wisdom and understanding. You begin and end with the Bible. This discussion about the existence of fire and brimstone and whether or not God is an egomanical psychopath is pointless until you do. One can try to muddy the waters by arguing about the translations and what He plainly said, but you cannot get away from the clear meaning: God will absolutely punish unrepentant sin. By the grace of Christ, He has taken our penalty, if we accept it. That is our choice- either we accept His atoning sacrifice, or we pay our own penalty.
I agree, your columns and many others here are golden. On the other hand, we continually hear remarks about the administration's "failed policies." Is it going too far to say that they are only "failed" if you assume his goals are to uphold the Constitution and do what is best for the American people? I wonder if he is achieving exactly what he has planned all along, and simply misled (surprise!) about his intentions from the start.
Kathy I think you have this backwards. It is your involvement in all that stuff that precisely proves his point. You can't get a handle on "reality" while drinking in all that erroneous thinking. Let me guess- whatever form it takes, the gblt churches and conferences all excuse their beliefs. It always boils down to: God didn't mean what He said, and if you interpret the Bible to condemn sin, you're a hater.

Judas Kisses Capitalism

There are a lot of different possible reasons for the betrayal, and it doesn't matter which one you think is closest to the real reason because they all come to the same thing. Judas suffered from the exact problems we still see in people today: they will believe whatever they want to believe, regardless of what makes sense, the truth, or the consequences. Judas was not interested in the truth or seeing God's plan fulfilled. He only wanted to push his own agenda. How many times do we see this carried out every single day in politics and society? Some people do all sorts of evil things to win and rationalize it.
Anyone who says they accept there are different teachings on when life begins, and then says they want to help clear up the confusion, can just stop right there. I already know this person has nothing of value to say. It only took the loss of one child to crush the heart of Pharoah, how much worse off is the USA for what we allow? I feel sorry for these people, but even more sorry for the country as a whole. What are we doing?
Giving His life means he willingly took on the punishment of sin and separation from the Father. He did not fear the crucifixion and death, the real punishment is separation from God. He went through it so we don't have to, because of His love for us. The resurrection shows us two things: 1) Jesus has the power of life and death and the authority to forgive sin, 2) God has accepted the sacrifice as complete and total payment of the penalty. Jesus took every step for us but doesn't force us to believe. Asking Jesus to be your Savior means you accept His payment for your sin. Rejecting His payment means you will pay your own penalty, and that is eternal separation from God, the worst thing ever. We were never meant to be apart from Him.
