I completely buy the argument made by Dr. Williams. However, here is the situation: I am 55, lost my job, my wife and I applied for a private insurance, and she was denied due to pre-existing condition. We cancelled and applied for another one -- and both were denied due to pre-existing conditions. We opted for COBRA, which immediately informed us that next year price goes up 20%, and it lasts only 18 month, and if we don't find a job, I do not know what to do. The Republicans promise to repeal ObamaCare, but do not suggest any solution to this problem. Any ideas?

Leaving aside legalities that Mia Farrow and Woody Allen were not married, her adopted daughter was 22 at a time, when her relationship with Woody Allen started. So, Woody Allen is a 'molester' of a 22-year old 'child'. While no one is going to make him a saint, or call him a model husband because of his movies, we should not throw away the movies because he cheated on Mia Farrow.

Dear Mr. Galen, thank you for the wonderful article. This is the first time I celebrate the 4th of July while being afraid what is going to happen to this country? Will it be enough for my son to work hard or he needs to be a wise Latina to achieve something?

Dear Cal Thomas. First of all, in regimes like that the reformers some times come from inside the system. Example: M.Gorbachev was 'selected by mullas' of PolitBuro of CPSU and was a CPSU apparatchik. In the Ukrainian orange revolition the question was not that Uschenko is better than another guy (he is, but he was also former communist party apparatchik), but that Ukrainians wanter fair election. Now everybody agrees that the other candidate in Iran is not much to our liking. Who knows? Maybe he is, maybe he is not. The point is that Iraneans want fair election. With this tradition established they might elect somebody someday. Without it -- never. And in this paticular question it is very clear that we must support them, whether...

With the introduction like "the politician who arrogantly dismisses the opinions of his dedicated staff and the very people he is supposed to represent." I was expecting an example of an arrogant politician who dismisses any disagreement with him as political games and promises to call all opponents out ... but did not find it.
"I hope the present Democratic majority in Washington doesn't drop its guard on the global war on terror." -- well, let's review the evidence: reading Miranda rights to captured terrorists on battlefiled, no waterboarding or other harsh treatment, telling the whole world how exactly the captured terrorists treated, and investigating the CIA officers who did interrogations. So, did the current administration already drop it's guard or we need more?
