I agree. Had this been done in 08, we would be thriving now.
Somehow I think John could care less about what you think, and that is precisely his point. It is my belief that we live in a society where people worry too much about what others think about themselves.
"...Romney got crushed by approximately 60 points on the question of which candidate "cares about people like me." This is an interesting comment. Conservatives have said liberals thrive off emotional arguments. This seems to support that contention. It suggests that people are more concerned with being understood than anything else. Kinda scary, actually. I've said that it seems part of the problem today is the lack of an ability to think critically, and this supports my theory.
Surprise, surprise, surprise...
Character? LOL. Courage? Nah, its a result of promises that other people will take care of their problems.
One thing we cannot do: water down our principles. We can adjust our approach, but our principles must stand firm or they are not truly principles but rather expediencies.

Sorry, but "community organizer" may be a fine profession, but it also implies that one is an activist of some sort and it certainly does not offer much in the way of leading a large organization. Sure, it involves working with particular members of a community, but it does not involve leadership.
