So the first amendment that states "congress shall make no law ... prohibiting the free exercise [of religion]" only applies to churches and faith based organizations? Congress can make a law prohibiting the free exercise of religion when businesses are involved? A business cannot force an individual to do things that go against a persons religious beliefs. The owners who run Hobby Lobby believe that abortion kills an unborn albeit living child, yet you are fine with them being forced to violate their religious beliefs because they make up a business? If any component of the Bill or Rights is up for grabs, then all of it is up for grabs.

Biopoesis happens all the time. We see this when mites arise from piles of non-living dust, and when living fungus sprouts on a dead piece of wood -even when there is no fungus near the wood! In the mid 1800's, around the time of Charles Darwin, we knew about bacterium that arises de novo, spontaneously. Seriously, if you don't believe that living things come from non-living matter, or indeed that this universe was always in existence in some form or another, what other choice do you have? That some "being" that exists "outside of time and space" -some "un-caused first cause" started the ball rolling? Away with you, sky-god believing pastafarian! My personal smug index needs room to get bigger!
It also never ceases to amaze me that people will respond on the internet with such vitriol to people who hold a different opinion than theirs. They say things that they would never say without the anonymity and distance of a keyboard. If I remember correctly, Michael Crichton in one of his novels (I forget which one) postulated how the internet would impede progress and eventually cause the downfall of mankind.

Possibly when some encounters a racist they assume a tea party member with no real evidence? I swear, the MSM has pushed this meme that the tea party is full of racists so hard that people automatically take that at face value. I've heard many more racist comments from the left than the right. Oh, and associating IQ with race is bunk.
Dooooode. You're talking to yourself.

If anti-speech laws safe the life of JUST ONE CHILD, isn't it worth it???? It's for the CHILDREN!!!!! You don't hate CHILDREN do you????
I feel that a basic multiple civics test would not be out of line. (E.G. How many branches of government are there, and what purpose do they serve?) If people are going to vote, they should at least have an idea of how the government works. Knowing who the President, VP, and Speaker of the House are wouldn't be a bad prerequisite either. An even better one would be proof of identification, but that would eliminate too much voter fraud.

As is evidenced, the force can have a strong influence on the week minded.
It would have to be people who are willing to be just as ruthless as the cartels. And you're right, there isn't anyone who is going to do that right now. -The basket is comfortable, but why the hell is it getting warmer?
The million dollar question is whether legalizing pot is going to lead to less crime and violence. It's all just theory until it's actually in place.
