Actually the Federal government has established a national religion and liberals with their legal Juggernaut the ACLU and others enforce this religion from public education all the way down to local municipalities, even to the point of suing them if they have a cross or some other "religious symbol" on their city seal. The official federally mandated "state sponsored" religion is "Secular Humanism". Now liberals are devious. Rather than have Congress pass a law to establish a national religion, they packed the courts with unelected socialist activist judges over several decades who by judicial fiat made Humanism the defacto state religion which my design is overtly hostile to our founding traditional Christian faith.
This is the full text of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution; the first of the Bill of Rights. Note the first clause, of the First Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
