I do not agree with Freedman. Nor Sarandon, Penn, Clooney or any other brand of liberal thinker that is a Hollywood star. They use their bully pulpit to herald their agenda for those who are less fortunate. Unfortunately for them their brand of compassion comes from the same guilt that drove Obama into the White House. Guilt. With bank accounts stuffed with money from saying words someone else created, they have a false sense of importance married with the guilt of so much money. My mechanic is a liberal but does great work. I can hold my nose because he is superior as a mechanic. So too these actors.
People will vote for prosperity over feel good slogans that rob freedom. If the right is truly right, stand up for what you believe and stop trying to be popular with fringe groups. LIft America up and all its people and the left will not have a leg to stand on.
Over the last three decades i have watched the conservatives compromise under the banner of being bipartisan. I marveled at the idea of these people that you can actually find common ground with a rattkesnake. My largest complaint about the conservative movement, which i have backed from my wallet and vote, is that they worry so what the public will think. Then act out to appear "balanced." Show this country eight years of unbridled capitalism without compromise, ferret out the lies of the environmental left, and regain the stature as a world leader for America and let the chips fall where they may.
John, I found this spot about three months ago and read here almost daily. I look for your column first and especially when you set our Comrades straight on what is and what should never be, as the Zep once said. But your opening today in this article made me laugh out loud. A 5 trillion dollar student loan. If your career here ever becomes sketchy consider Bill Maher could use some competition on the small screen.
