...for people to see that the worst thing the US could now do is start meddling in Irans affairs. A sizeable minority of people in Iran are obviously fed up living under it's oppressive regime but that does not necessarily mean they want the US to get involved, if anything any involvement is more likely to galvanise support for the current state of affairs. The Wests track record in the middle east is far from exemplary. Far better to let them sort out their own problems.
