I blame social media for over-exposing us to 25/8 (oh look my digits inflated while writing) negativity and bile about the enemies of whoever is speaking at the moment. We have people like Martin Basheer and Ed Shultz using the most vile and slanderous comments about people just because of their political affiliation. We can't - as a society - let irresponsible media types get away with crass, slanderous, and baseless insults which wouldn't have been conceivable on any normal day if this were 1995. Why is it okay now? Somehow I think we'll never be rid of yellow journalism.
