He's being criticized for going to church for political expediency - he's not being criticized for worshiping the Lord.

It's not a RELIGIOUS issue. It's a political one. When a high profile politician starts attending services in an election year, after absenting himself for more than 3 years and purposely omitting "under God" from the numerous times he's quoted the Pledge of Allegiance, it's merely political theatre done as political expediency. Again, it's not a religious issue, so all the Leftwing posters saying he's free to worship as he wishes miss the point of the whole debate...

Most people, when confronted with some wrongdoing of their own or their group, do the Christian thing and repent. The issue is not his religion. It's Obama's USE of religion (his sudden emergence as a church-goer in an election year). It wouldn't even be an issue if he continued to attend throughout his presidency - BUT HE DID NOT. As such, it's a political issue - something he's doing as political expediency ostensibly to make himself out to be someone other than who he really is.
