Fact-Free Liberals

While I certainly see how this individual example 'hits home,' Mr. Sowell's point, in the aggregate, is that holding constant for other factors, men and women generally are paid comparably for comparable work. Part of the lib 'bag of tricks' is to pull out a 'misleading vividness' fallacy as an example, and then trying to paint a complicated (but biased ) picture based on one extreme example. We see this on daytime TV all the time. This, of course, is not your intent, but thanks for your story.
Nonsense to all your points: 1. They don't care about individual lifestyle choices that involve birth control use, they morally oppose the destruction of innocent life, and the public funding of those "choices" that lead to death. 2. They don't care about how gays choose to live, they oppose the "dumbing down" of marriage especially since evidence is in regarding how deleterious such relationships are to children involved. It's not all about personal choice or rights; it's also about responsible behavior and the public good. 3. As a former teacher you got it wrong. No one requires anyone to pray in public school, but to afford the right of freedom of expression for those who desire this 1st amendment right in public.
Are you seriously stating that government paid birth control is health care? This is the definition of "other people's money" purchasing a lifestyle. This has nothing to do with relatively few benefits that the pill actually provides; in fact, the pill is known to increase stroke risk and has other documented negative side effects, so what are you talking about?
You're right. It's paranoid to think that turning our backs on our foreign allies, devaluing the dollar by overspending, and cowtowing to terrorism can have any consequence! It's almost like thinking extremists might fly planes into our buildings, or something! Oh, wait....

Romney Was Not the Problem

Anne is right about one thing: it is not about Romney, or the type of candidate selected. It's more about demographics, something very different today than in 1980. The comparison to the Reagan era is weak. (See http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/08/us/08iht-letter08.html?_r=0. --- I can't believe I'm referencing a NYT article....) That, and Superstorm Sandy on the eve of the election helped the Democraps.
Dang, I gotta get me one of them thar victim cards....Maybe if I watch Oprah enough (like staying in a Holiday Inn last night)?
