I pretty much agree with the other contributors. One thing I'd like to touch on is this: what was the original intent of the 14th Amendment? Since it was written in 1868, I suspect that it did have something to do with emancipated slaves. I also think it's possible that it was partially to ensure that the citizenship of the children of U.S. citizens wasn't questioned. I doubt that the 14th Amendment was ever intended to include the children of illegal aliens. Whether illegal aliens were an issue in 1868 or not, they certainly are now. For the most part, I agree with what Chuck has said here, but I disagree with his suggestion to fly a tea-stained Flag. I can appreciate the intent, but I believe that people that see it would just see it as a dirty Flag, and they probably wouldn’t bother to ask why it’s being flown.
