The GOP's Selective Constitutionalism

Mr. Connor blurs the distinctions between the types of caps proposed on damages. No cap has been suggested on economic damages, i.e. any damages that can be expressed in terms of dollars. If you lose your spouse due to malpractice, any award of damages would not be capped for the lose of income and services normally associated with that spouse. If you lose an arm, there is a specific actuarial value in dollars to this that would not be capped. So economic damages would be unlimited. Non-economic damages include pain, emotional or social losses that cannot be objectively dollar-valued. Non-economic damages also include damages to punish the doctor or drug company for doing wrong-but any trial or judgment against the doctor or drug...
Gone are the days of the Democrats being classified into moderate, liberal and far left. Marxists have hijacked the Democrat Party and these days, they are all FAR LEFT EXTREMISTS. Due to this shift within the Democrat Party, the majority of Americans are now labeled by Democrats and aided by the lapdog Lame Stream Media, as FAR RIGHT EXTREMISTS. What the new Democrats call Centrist Republicans are really the new Democrat Moderates. What Democrats call the Right is the new Center, and what Democrats call far-right extremists are the new Right of Center, in reality, mainstream Conservatives. Although Democrat terminology has shifted, the American Mainstream remains still Right of Center. Far from being condemnation of Conservatives,...

The Tea Party Rescues America

Anyone who buys into the MSM is going to be misguided. Using MSM as references to support your argument that the Tea Party movement is not a grass-roots movement, is invalid. Being part of this grass-roots movement, and knowing hundreds of others personally who are also part of this, I know we are not a part of the Republican Party or on the take from sinister corporations. In Utah, we rejected the Republican Party's big-government, big-spending candidate for reelection to the senate, Senator Bob Bennett, replacing him with a fiscal conservative, Tea Party supported, candidate, Mike Lee. The same has happened many times over around the country. The Republican Party has spent millions of dollars promoting their "Washington as usual"...

Tolerance and the Ground Zero Mosque

STOP THE GROUND ZERO MOSQUE! The building site was specifically chosen to serve as a symbol of Islamic victory over and eventual subjugation of the American people under Sharia law. The site was struck by the landing gear of the plane piloted by Mohammed Atta in the 9/11 Islamic extremist attack, and is considered by Muslims to be a site of Islamic conquest, where Muslims will tread upon “the bones and ashes” of their defeated foe, a supreme insult in the Muslim world. Muslim conquests in the past have been accompanied by tearing down cathedrals and building mosques on the sites. This mosque, funded by Islamic extremists, is planned to be a continuation of this pattern, and is planned to serve as a base of operations for domestic...

Time for a Divorce

The traditional definition of marriage, that is, the union of one man and one woman, has existed for thousands of years. The traditional purpose of marriage is to have and raise children. The traditional family, made up of a father, a mother and children, is the unit building-block of society. Society has an interest in nurturing and preserving the traditional family, as a successful society depends upon the successful, traditional family. The best situation under which children grow and flourish (physically, socially, psychologically, emotionally, spiritually and sexually) is in the presence of an intact family, a traditional family with both a mother and a father. In the best interests of children, and to preserve and enhance...
The leaks from East Anglia exposed the Left's manipulation of scientific data for political purposes; the only harm done was a well-deserved blow to the Left's credibility in regard to climate change. The JournoList leaks exposed the MSM for the liberal attack dog that it is, damaging only the Left's MSM unearned claim of relevance. On the other hand, leaks of information about our troops & allies, including cooperating Afghans, endangers lives & reduces our credibility & effectiveness in the war. WikiLeaks reports that it sent copies of the leaked documents to the Obama WH & aksed them if there was anything in them that the WH did not want released--WikiLeaks says that they received only silence from Obama. WikiLeaks, aided by the...
Tinsleader2: An excellent exposition of our goals in Afghanistan. However, trying to bring some stability to an impoverished country, torn apart by battling war lords & islamic extremists, "governed" by a corrupt oligarchy, with our troops caught in the middle, is an impossible task. President Obama has failed to provide any decisive leadership in this war, he has failed to provide the "overwhelming force" needed for victory, his rules of engagement are tying the hands of our military, he continues to advance faulty strategies that don't work, & he continues to stand by ineffective civil servants in the arena. While winning this war is nearly an impossible mission, the people have cast an extreme vote of "no confidence" for our...

Bill Kristol Must Resign

Steele could have used a different approach to the same topic without causing such an imbroglio. All he had to do was say: "We're 18 months into this presidency and it's about time Obama took responsibility for what is now essentially, his economy. Likewise, it's time for Obama to take responsibility for the fact that things are not going well now in Afghanistan--at this point in time, Obama OWNS the war. If Mr. Steele went on to talk about how the rules of engagement (drawn up by the Obama Whitehouse) are too restrictive and are dangerous to our troops, that no foreign country has been able to conquer and hold Afghanistan throughout history, he would be right on both counts. As a wrapup of his speech, Mr. Steele could have noted that...
