Sad part is, anyone who has studied either propaganda machine knows that this statement is not only poppycock, but one of the very techniques used by both. I know why this is so hard to see. Even thirty years ago, I can remember kids sleeping through history and civics classes; these folks know nothing today. They just parrot what they hear.

Exactly USNbubblehead. The left has buried the bad parts of history which are related to fascism, socialism, and marxism. Why? They want to go there in some form. They think they can finally set up a system like that but make it a peaceful one, as opposed to the oppressive, violent, tyrannical systems we've seen throughout history, associated with socialism, marxism, and fascism. Modern "progressives" believe that they are so well educated and intelligent that they will be able to succeed where others have marched to tyranny. They are wrong. They are the oppressors. You have to oppress people in those systems, because humans yearn to be free. It's in our nature.

Once upon a time, a group of people known as the "Democrats" expressed great fear of tyranny by government.This was a time long, long ago, when a man from a place called Texas, representing a people known as the Republicans, occupied the White House. Leaders of the Democrats feared tyranny by the Republicans and called the man from Texas racist, oppressive and tyrannical.

To refresh your recollection, we offer a few examples from the distant past:

Billionaire Democratic contributor George Soros. He said the George W. Bush White House displayed the "supremacist ideology of Nazi Germany" and that Bush's administration...
