Weiner: He'll stand up for your rights. He is stiff competition He can handle the hard problems We can put it in his hands Holding up his end of the bargain Exposing the truth Standing up for the masses Four-stroke engine of change Spanking his opponents Pulling victory from the ashes of defeat A firm grasp of the issues Flash of genius I could probably go on all day with this...

Undoing the Brainwashing

My son came up to me last night and wanted to talk. He's about to graduate high school next week. Yesterday he had a animated debate in his sociology class when a fellow student stated that the Govt. should pay him to attend school, regardless of the grades he earned. Armed with a plethora of research, including several Dr. Sowell articles he made a passionate case that not only would that increase the tax burden on the rest of the community, but they would essentially be paying for failure. He did a quick couple of calculations and informed his nemesis that he's already receiving a service that comes out to $5,827.00 per student per month. "And you want my struggling, working-class parent to give you more so you can sit here and fail every class?" (Ouch!) His teacher, a recovering lib (masters in English, minor in Soc.) let him run and even shook his hand afterward. I'm proud of the kid. I did what Dr. Sowell recommends over the years and it worked. When a young person sees that there is more than one view on a subject, their natural curiosity takes over and they begin to REALLY think critically. Thanks, Doc.
"It breaks my heart." He HAS no heart. If he did, it would only be breaking because he got caught. This guy need a little (7 to 10 years) vacation, and I know just the place: Club Fed - There's a bar in every room!
I've been wondering these last ten years or so, especially the last few, why no-one else steps up and founds a REAL news service to compete with Fox. I bet between the two they'd completely dominate the market.
This guy is going to keep throwing out every lame excuse he can think of to keep from admitting the truth, no matter how ridiculous it sounds. What do you expect from a guy with a bowl of linguini on his head?

Tyranny is no Longer 'Lurking'

"Repeal the 16th Amendment, eliminate the IRS, put the government back within its constitutional boundaries and tyranny will be defeated." If that were done, I would recommend a serious pruning of several other agencies, especially those that Jimmah Carter (aka peanut) saddled us with. Maybe a few limbs off the Dept. of Energy, seeing as they are holding us back from energy independence, or maybe the Dept. of Education, seeing as they have lowered the standard of education in this country to pitiful levels. Put education back under local control. The problem is, I don't see this government cutting off its own heroin supply. The IRS is the cartel's enforcement arm, and money is the drug.
Lawrence O'Who? In a sea of media hacks, he stands out as particularly stupid. An utter moron. Yet there are two PhDs here who repeat his drivel routinely. I continue to be blown away with how many people can't see what's going on right under their noses. All the facts are right here in plain sight. What the heck's wrong with them?
"Am I in 3rd grade again?" That's a good way to characterize it; I've noticed the same schoolyard mentality creeping in to all levels of society as the generations who think its evil to 'grow-up' (the Hippies and genX) take over more and more of our institutions. They have a rare immature cynicism.
You're right about that. I see so many parallels with how the Fascists in both Italy and Germany operated. The most frightening thing of all is how few of us realize what's happening. Even some of those who don't like 0 simply cannot get their head around this. The media keeps anyone from getting a good whiff.
"I think he thinks you’re that dumb. And so does the White House." Well, John, the saddest part about that statement is that in they case of the general population they're probably 45 - 55% right on that.
Not to mention the MSM to make sure no word of malfeasance gets out.
