I talked to yet another Tea Party person the other day about the Fair Tax as he had a Fairtax bumper sticker on his vehicle. I asked him, quite forcefully, if I dare say so myself, who pays more and who pays less if the new Fair Tax plan is implemented? He replied, "Everyone pays less tax under the Fair Tax." I asked him, "Since we have so much debt now, how can every American pay less in taxes?" He said, "Here's what you do not understand, we just need to apply some more 'Supply-Side' theory and everything will work out." Now, folks, isn't this supply-side theory what got us here? Sounds like getting blood from a turnip is more feasible.
