What Price 'Fairness'?

And....I am really, really getting tired of hearing my fellow conservatives talk about a lower, flatter, fairer tax code. It already exists....it's called the payroll tax and sucks out 15.3% tax on every penny earned. Look it up if you don't know nuthin' but a bunch of Republican party talking points. This payroll tax allows Warren Buffet to pay a lower tax rate than his secretary.
What did we learn from General Petraeus' testimony to that Congressional committee? Yes, the CIA's determined that Al Qaeda was behind the attack in Benghazi and wanted to keep it TOP SECRET. Why? Why inform the enemy you are on to them. Al Qaeda thanks the feckless Republican party for giving them a heads-up that the USA will be hunting them down in Libya.

They just don't get change - new people, new ideas, new languages, new ways of thinking, new religions, new problems or new solutions. But the only thing constant in the world is change, and that just confuses the reptilian GOP to no end.

The entire Republican platform was a big, beautiful empty cliche of freedom from taxes, government, healthcare, education, infrastructure, regulation and interaction with minorities. Their mythical Whites R Us sensibility was a still photo of 1950's America reflecting their one and only vision of the future.

The GOP made a conscious thirty-year choice to build their brand on fear, insecurity, ignorance, religion, division, discredited economic theory, flag-waving, guns and the masterful art of sufficiently inflaming and deceiving people with social issues so that they'll disregard facts, reason and clear evidence that they have been robbed blind by the people they've elected. The diabolical branding worked well for a long time, especially with the advent of a rabid right-wing propaganda radio and television conservative entertainment complex that glorified stupidity, bloviation, thoughtlessness and held nuance, complexity, and modernity in contempt.
