The modern university system is leaning over a yawning pit of irrelevance just a certainly as all those houses in the Colorado hills last year. Some future event, large or small, will bring it all down the hill in a huge scholastic mud slide. The future collapse of the University System will dwarf the collapse of the banking system in the early '30's in that it will never recover. And those living in their comfortable tenured "houses" will never see it coming. Such is the human blindness of hubris.
