It's easy to get lost in the fog of all of the economic estimates. But even innumerate people can understand that being a poor person in a rich nation is better than being equal in a poor nation. The idea that politicians and bureaucrats (at least those of the "right" party) possess a higher level of honesty, morality, education, experience, capability and discipline than your average free market business owner....or anybody a serious delusion of the Left that they cannot reject-it is always there-and yet it is clearly disprovable by specific example and even in principle. I recently saw a politician stating on TV that he couldn't "trust" businessmen. And I'm supposed to trust him? On what basis? Good intentions? We already know where that road leads.
